No 12V output — 12V lights, fridge, USB and accessories not working
If 240V appliances work normally but 12V lights, USB outlets, fridge, or water pump are not working, work through the following checks.
Step-by-step checks
- Check the 12V button on the top panel of the DCX system. The green LED below it should be illuminated. If it is off, press it to enable the 12V supply.
- Confirm the Battery Isolator (red key) is in the ON position.
- Check the BMS screen voltage. If voltage is below 44.8VDC (0% SoC), the system has shut down to protect the battery from over-discharge. Connect to shore power or ensure solar is receiving sunlight to begin charging. The 12V supply will restore once charging begins and voltage rises above the protection threshold.
- Check all plug connections on the front of the DCX unit are firmly seated.
- Inspect 12V fuses within the RV for any blown fuses and replace like-for-like.
Understanding the 12V supply
The 12V DC-DC power supply fitted inside the DCX Power System outputs 13.2VDC. This is intentionally set slightly above 12V to compensate for voltage drop across the wiring within the RV. A reading of 13.2V is normal and correct — it does not indicate overcharging of 12V devices.
With the 12V button on, up to 1,300W (100A) is available for all 12V loads throughout the van.
12V working but lower than expected output
If 12V devices are working but with reduced power or flickering, check for: loose connections at the DCX unit and at 12V distribution points throughout the van, corroded terminals, undersized wiring that causes voltage drop under load, and blown or undersized fuses on individual circuits.
